Hello Future Watch D.O.G.S.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in our Watch (D.O.G.S) Dads Of Great Students program.
Watch D.O.G.S. is a family and community engagement program utilizing the positive influence of fathers and father-figures for a two-fold purpose:
(1) To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
(2) To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
Fathers, stepfathers, grand fathers and uncles are asked to spend at least one day at MVMS volunteering. By volunteering your time you are supporting our school and our students by refereeing games, listening to students who may need an ear, or whatever else needs to be done to PLANT SEEDS OF SUCCESS in the lives of our students.
As we bring Watch D.O.G.S into Maple View Middle School we will begin small with asking each of you to volunteer during the students lunch periods. You’re welcome to come for an hour, a couple hours or stay through all lunches. With as many as 340 students during each lunch the school needs more eyes as the students spread out after they’ve eaten. This allows us to invite several Watch D.O.G.S per day, so please do not hesitate to join us as much as you would like.
We won’t be sending out a signup genius just come when you can but remember you must be cleared through the district before you can volunteer. Please follow this link to sign in and see if you’re still eligible. Clearance is only valid for 2 years.
We are also seeing some businesses and corporations now offering Corporate Volunteer Hour Programs. Some may allow their employees to volunteer for one day with pay or without having to take a vacation day and may also make a donation to the school for those hours. Check with your company to see if they are able to do the same for you.
I look forward to working with each of you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly via email at email@example.com or call me at 206-595-7645.
Thank you for volunteering!
