It's Wizards time again!!!
For the 3rd year in a row, we are excited to partner with the Tahoma Schools Foundation as they bring the Wizards back to town - new team, new show! We are in need of lots of help this evening, so check your availability on April 20. Please note - the foundation is trying something new, so some of the elementary schools are hosting a carnival of sorts for the community before the game.   On April 5th will be the last MVMS/ASB Event. Students will be able to go the the glow party and there will be black lights and DJ, cakewalk, basketball tourney, games, food and face painting! Tickets will be on sale during all lunches to attend the event and Concessions pre-sales will also be during lunch. We are still looking for several volunteers to help during the event. We need two pre-sale volunteers during lunch, four concession sales, one slushy and 3 treats volunteers during the event. We are scheduling a special general meeting to vote as a membership on whether or not The Middle Schools of Tahoma PTA will endorse the upcoming levy on April 24. We have had a great start to the slushy rollout!! Here is some information:  1) Students can not use lunch accounts for the slushy.  2) Students can now use their Ice Cream account.  3) Reminder Ice Cream accounts will run out of money sooner since slushy is $2. Students can ask at the window how much money is left in their accounts  4) Students are only allowed one slushy. When middle school students start the second semester at the end of January, they'll have a new Stretch learning class to attend. Each morning, Monday through Thursday, students at both sites will have the chance to take 45-minute classes such as Guitar, Introduction to Babysitting, Current Events, Computer Programming, Debate and "Sounding off on the Puget Sound." Kindergarten preregistration opened today, Dec. 1, for students who will enter kindergarten in the fall of 2018. If you know of a family with a child who will be 5 by Aug. 31, 2018, please share this information with them.   After families preregister their child for kindergarten, we will mail a registration packet home in January. What do Shakespeare and steampunk have in common? It's a good question, and one you should mark your calendar in order to fully answer! Students from both middle schools have been hard at work with staff and volunteers to prepare a production of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream," adapted by teacher Earlene DeLeon in steampunk style.
